Past and Present Boone County Commissioners Gather for Roundtable Discussion

On Monday, September 29, Boone County Commissions past and present will gather over lunch to discuss current events in Boone County.
Beginning at 11:00am in Conference Room 301 of the Boone County Government Center, Commissioners having served terms dating back to 1971 will gather together to share ideas, discuss current events in Boone County and reflect upon how past events can shed light on the present. By hosting the meeting, Presiding Commissioner Dan Atwill, District I Commissioner Karen M. Miller and District II Commissioner Janet Thompson will have the opportunity to learn from the knowledge and experience of their predecessors.
Commissioners planning to attend include Larry Mead, who served from 1971-1972; Kay Roberts, who served from 1981-1985; David Horner, who served from 1985-1988; Dave Griggs, who served from 1989-1990; Patsy Ponder Dalton, who served from 1991-1992; Linda Vogt, who served from 1991-2000; Keith Schnarre, who served from 2003-2006; and Ken Pearson, who served from 2007-2010.
Current Commissioners will utilize videoconferencing equipment to share information about the 911/Emergency Management facility project. Other topics will include plans for the decommissioning of the Central Missouri Events Center and an update from the Community Services Department and the Children's Services Board.
